A free online typing test for every kind of practice.

Typing Test measures your words per minute (WPM), raw speed, accuracy, consistency and errors in real time. Choose a timed test, a fixed word count, a quote, a code snippet, or paste your own text. The daily challenge gives everyone the same 30-second word set.

Everything runs locally in your browser. There is no sign-up, no install, and no server storing your results. Your bests, history and progress stay on your device.

Is Typing Test free?

Yes. Typing Test is completely free, requires no account, and runs entirely in your browser.

How is WPM calculated?

WPM is calculated from correctly typed characters over the elapsed time, divided by five characters per word. Raw WPM counts every keystroke, while net WPM accounts for mistakes.

Does Typing Test work on mobile and tablets?

Yes. The typing test is responsive and works on phones, tablets, laptops and desktops. A physical keyboard is recommended for the most accurate results, but touch input works too.

What modes are included?

Time (1, 2, 3, 5 minutes or custom), Words (10, 25, 50 or 100 words), Quote, Code, Custom text, and a daily challenge. You can also adjust punctuation, numbers, difficulty, strict mode and blind mode.

Is my typing history stored?

Yes. Bests, history and progress are saved locally in your browser using localStorage. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
